Linketree & Vote.Org Enlists Stars For Voter Registration Campaign
Linktree & Vote.Org Enlists Stephen Curry, Saweetie & More For Voter Registration Campaign
National Voter Registration Day (September 17) just briefly moved into our rearview but there is plenty of time left to raise awareness about the importance of opting in to become a true civic participant. Linktree, the one-stop digital solution for sharing all the links that matter to your business or ventures, partnered with Vote.Org, and enlisted the help of stars such as NBA great Stephen Curry, Olympic medalists Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall, and music sensation Saweetie to get the word out.
Linktree, which has over 50 million users, launched a handy voter registration hub on Tuesday with the aforementioned assistance of Curry, and the Woodhalls, Maggie Rogers, Bella Poarch, Hank Green, Hannah Cody, Michael Kosta, Erika Alexander, and more.
Using their Linktree bios and changing them into voter registration hubs, the stars are allowing their personal page to be used in the service of getting folks registered to join the electoral process this coming November. Instead of the usual link format of pointing fans to their wares or online haunts, they will be sent to a voter registration page where voters can either verify or update their registration.
Vote.Org, a nonpartisan group aimed at getting out the vote for all American voters, has always been a leader in innovation when it comes to this level of civic participation.
Beyond the remixed Linktree pages, the campaign has made its way to the billboards of Times Square in New York, and the campaign is reaching out to other stars such as Connor Franta, Lexi Hidalgo, and Odesza to amplify the effort.
Adding to this, if fans have a Linktree page already set up, they can add the voter registration link and banner to their profiles. Paid members can also use the redirect tool to send their viewers to the registration hub. This feature will be available up until the election.
Below is a statement from Linktree’s Senior Vice President of Marketing, Partnerships, and Business Development Lara Cohen:
“With 50+ million of the most powerful voices on the internet, Linktree exists to empower creators to own their audiences, and drive their followers to the things they care about most. For so many in our community that’s about looking to use their platform to drive social impact and good. Our partnership with Vote.org allows creators, high-profile celebrities, and everyday people to rally their communities in making sure their voices are heard in this crucial U.S. election. We’re proud to simplify the voter registration process and bring it to the forefront of their digital spaces.”
Chief Executive Officer Andrea Hailey adds:
“In an age of increasing fragmentation and decreasing attention spans online, Linktree is at the forefront of cutting through the noise and has cracked the code on meeting people where they already are. By partnering with Linktree, voters who are naturally interested in any given creator’s content will be far more likely to encounter voter registration information through the Linktree voter registration hub linked in that creator’s bio. This is the exact sort of partnership that has led Vote.org to help register young voters at unprecedented rates this election cycle–and partnering with Linktree will only help us reach more and more young voters on National Voter Registration Day.”
