Alex Cross, the chief protagonist in James Patterson’s books about the Washington, D.C. detective, has been played by the likes of Morgan Freeman and Tyler Perry on the big screen. In a new Amazon Prime titled Cross, Aldis Hodge is the latest actor to take on the role and do so with authenticity and charm. Created by Ben Watkins, this fresh take on the Cross character follows the detective as he navigates police work with being a widowed father to two children.

Hodge is joined by Isaiah Mustafa, who plays Det. John Sampson, Cross’ good friend of 30 years and his partner. Also on the cast is Juanita Jennings, who plays Cross’ grandmother Regina Cross, Samantha Walkes, who plays Cross’ love interest Elle Monteiro, and Johnny Ray Gill, who plays former police officer Bobby Trey.D.L. The Day Of The Jackal is a British spy thriller that stars Eddie Redmayne as The Jackal, a sniper, master of disguise, and elite hitman, and Lashana Lynch as Bianca, an intelligence agent who has the killer on her radar. Really, it had us at “starring Lashana Lynch” because Marvel needs to book her as Storm and get it poppin’, for the culture.Alvin aqua Blanco

Win or lose, Mike Tyson’s fight against Youtuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul will be entertaining and impressive. At 58 years old, not only does he have the courage to step in the ring with a 27-year-old, but betting odds are saying he’s going to win. So before —or after— the fight, you should watch the Tyson documentary. From 2008, the documentary takes a look behind the scenes at what made Tyson ‘the Baddest Man on the Planet.’ It’s a peek at all aspects of his life, from growing up in Brownsville, Brooklyn, his tumultuous relationship with Robin Givens, his prison stint, and more. Still, he remained atop the boxing world and has a chance to shock them again in his latest fight.
