Singer Khalid prefers to let his music speak for itself but was recently forced to speak about his sexuality.
Friday night, the singer tweeted out a rainbow flag emoji followed by “there yall go. next topic please lol.”
Soon after, he confirmed it when a fan asked if he was gay, replying, “I am! And that’s okay.”
It was Khalid’s way of coming out as gay, begrudgingly, only because he was outed.
“I got outted and the world still continues to turn,” Khalid continued. “Let’s get this straight (lmao) I am not ashamed of my sexuality! In reality it ain’t nobodies business! But I am okay with me,” he later explained.
The admission comes after fellow singer Hugo Almonte went on a now-deleted rant on X that never mentioned Khalid by name, but spoke about them engaging in sexual acts and drug use with vulgar lines like “one of your favorite gay R&B singers suck my d-ck and it was really bad.”
Almonte went on to break down some of the drama the former alleged couple had, including a break-in.
“I was dating this dumb ass singer he’s ugly as f–k but he tried to set me up and lie and say I broke into his house because I broke up with him like why would I go to your house and do all that if I broke up with you dumb a-s!” Almonte alleged.
He ended the fury of posts with a selfie of him with Khalid, alongside the caption, “B-tch ass 🥷🏾 lied and said that I broke into his house cause I didn’t want him.”
Despite being forced to reveal his sexuality, his fans came out in a wave to support him as he replied to them, but shot down rumors that he was hiding; he just preferred to keep that part of his life private.
