Destiny’s Child got back together – but only for a night and not on a concert stage.

The trio who brought you the hits ‘Say My Name,’ ‘Bills, Bills, Bills,’ ‘Lose My Breath,’ and other gems is not heading back to the recording studio that we know of. Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland were in New York City to support Michelle Williams’ latest role on Broadway.

Williams, 45, is starring in Death Becomes Her at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater on Broadway. The show’s opening night was Thursday, and Williams’ former DC group mates were there and posted about it on social media. Williams plays Viola Van Horn in the musical based on the 1992 movie starring Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, Bruce Willis, and Isabella Rossellini.

In the movie, novelist Helen Sharp (Hawn) and movie star Madeline Ashton (Streep) are after the same guy. As you might figure, the movie star bags him, but years later, the novelist shows up in their lives again, looking exactly like her younger self. It turns out that she’s been helped to eternal youth by the mysterious Van Horn.

The musical follows the same storyline but adds songs and scenes to make it work onstage.

The musical’s debut answers the question of why Williams didn’t appear with Rowland and Knowles at the Kamala Harris rally in Houston. Rowland and Beyoncé came to support the vice president, making short speeches to help her campaign in the red state.

“I was so happy [for Beyoncé and Kelly],” Willams told Sherri Shepherd in a recent appearance on her daytime talk show. “It was the first time that I have not been able to be in person for something that I wanted to be at … It’s a sacrifice that we make [being] on Broadway.”

Beyoncé and Rowland were obviously happy for Williams. Beyoncé made two posts with photos and videos from their time at the show.

“My belle,” she captioned a post of Williams after the show.

The post included photos of the playbill with Williams’s name and picture on it, as well as pictures of Tina Knowles, who was also in attendance. Beyonce posted a picture of Rowland backstage and of herself in a grey pantless fit and glasses.

Famous DC fans joined in on the sisterhood appreciation post. Holly Robinson Peete said, “Love this congratulations,” and Niecy Nash posted, “Love this love.”

“I try not to cry too early in the day BUT……. My sisters 4ever!”
