Opening Night of Mariah Carey - Merry Christmas One And All!

It’s Christmas time, and that means lights, presents, reindeer, jolly, heavyset white men in red suits, carols, snowmen, candy canes, and, of course — the complete inability to walk into a mall, department store, or grocery store without hearing Mariah Carey‘s “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

Whether you love or hate Carey’s smash holiday hit, you know it’s coming rain, sleet, or white Christmas snow, but what you wouldn’t expect is that folks are so tired of hearing the song that a fight breaks out while the singer who made it famous (or infamous) performed it on stage.

Yet here we are.

According to TMZ, the fight broke out as Carey was performing the song to wrap up her show. A concert attendee can be seen pointing her camera at the brawl, which appeared to be unfolding between two white women, one of whom had curly hair and can be seen shoving the other woman, who had blonde hair and responded by throwing a drink at her assailant and another Carey fan. That’s when the curly-haired woman can be seen smacking the jingle bells out of the blonde just before a man comes to get between them and break up the fight — but that didn’t work. Instead, another man joined the mele between the two women and ultimately ended up in a shoving match with the man who was trying to de-escalate things.

Who knows what started the conflict in the first place? I mean, a lot of people are tired of hearing the song, but probably not that tired.

According to the NY Post, the concert was part of Carey’s 20-city Christmas tour in the fall to celebrate the 30th anniversary of her “Merry Christmas” album. Hopefully, the rest of the 55-year-old’s shows will be more merry and less “deck the halls with fists and thrown glasses.”

Tis the season, y’all!
