Diddy has been locked up in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center since September, and his time behind bars has been interesting as his alleged conditions have trickled out.
Several of those conditions appear to be perks, including living with other high-profile celebs like Sam Bankman-Fried in dormitory-style rooms and even overzealous fellow prisoners fighting for the chance to make his bed and be his “groupies.”
But the privileges don’t end there, with the disgraced mogul pleading for a laptop on his terms.
According to a letter from his lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, to Judge Arun Subramanian obtained by Us Weekly, MDC already has the laptop that Diddy is supposed to have access to. However, nine days after it was approved for him, it still hasn’t been given to him.
“We write on behalf of Mr. Combs to request that the Court direct the MDC to provide Mr. Combs with the laptop prepared for him by the government and allow him to use that laptop on his unit, consistent with the way other inmates on his unit are permitted to use their laptops,” the letter reads.
Charged with sex trafficking and racketeering charges, Diddy is facing life in prison, and his legal team argues that he needs the laptop to review legal documents and take notes, but multiple inquiries haven’t been fulfilled.
However, according to Deadline, it’s because the Bureau of Prisons only wants Diddy to use the laptop in the designated room from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. But Diddy’s lawyers disagree and want their client to be able to use the laptop when and wherever he pleases.
As lawsuits mount –he’s currently facing over two dozen– many of the accounts come from his “freak-off” parties where he’d wield his power over amateur artists who’d hope to make it big with his guidance and say he’d often drug them and they’d later wake up in a daze. There are also accounts of him sexually assaulting underage boys and girls and incidents as recent as 2022.
He’s requested bail three times, but they’ve all been denied because the judge feels he’d get involved in witness tampering and because he ran a “criminal enterprise” and can’t be trusted as a free man. So, his court case is set to begin in May 2025.
