When it comes to Black actors who dominated for decades through the 1990s, early aughts, and into the 2010s, few have the resume that Will Smith has, from Fresh Prince to Muhammad Ali, The Pursuit of Happyness, and most recently, King Richard.

But now that he’s putting his focus back on his music career for the first time in 20 years, he’s making the media rounds, including stopping by to chop it up on stream with Plaqueboymax.

During the 35-minute conversation, Smith’s greatness came up, and he was asked to name his top four fellow actors of all time. Max told him he should comfortably name himself on the list.

“I mean, that’s definitely how I’m feeling but I just don’t feel like I should say that publicly,” he said. “Alright, Mount Rushmore of actors. Damn. So I would start with Marlon Brando. I’m trying to look at the whole spectrum. So three of them, and I’m not really saying this to be arrogant, I do think I’m like one of the most prolific actors of our time.”

From there, he mentions Denzel Washington and explains the difference between actors and movie stars.

“An actor can deliver a role and take you through something that is a performative experience,” he begins. “But a movie star can put a movie on their back and carry it. Like you go to a Denzel movie because it’s Denzel. You go to a Will Smith movie because it’s Will Smith.”

While breaking down the two types of actors, he names his final—and most surprising—Mount Rushmore honor as Daniel Day-Lewis, the legendary method actor who’s given award-winning and fan-lauded performances in films like Gangs of New York, Lincoln, and There Will Be Blood.

Back in February, Smith was on xQc’s livestream, where he dropped some exclusive news about Zendaya possibly appearing in Hancock 2 and how he and Michael B. Jordan are developing their characters for the I Am Legend sequel.

Still, he’s in his music bag right now, announcing his Based On A True Story album set to release March 28, with his first headlining tour ever kicking off in Morocco in June.

He even did a song in one take while on Max’s stream, which you can watch here.
