In today’s episode of Republicans Have Only Been Pretending To Love Free Speech This Whole Times Rep. Jasmine Crockett has, once again, ruffled Trump administration feathers, this time, by voicing her support for the “Tesla Takedown” protest against the billionaire who appears to have bought the White House wholesale, Elon Musk.
Crockett’s latest rebuke of MAGA Musk and the Fascist Bunch drew the attention of U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, who made an appearance on Fox News Sunday, where she warned Crockett to “tread carefully,” suggesting that the congresswoman had called for having Musk “taken out,” which, of course, is not what Crockett said even remotely.
Before we get into the way Bondi disregarded what Crockett actually said and, instead, decided to interpret the Democrat’s message in a way that made it sound violent, let’s get into what this “Tesla Takedown” movement is all about.
Bondi’s comments on Crockett came after the congresswoman said that she is supportive of the Tesla Takedown mass protests planned for March 29.
Over 500 protests are planned for that date, which happens to be Crockett’s birthday. She made a statement in support of the movement at a virtual Tesla Takedown rally, where she said: “On March 29, it’s my birthday, and all I want to see happen on my birthday is for Elon to be taken down.
“I have learned, as I serve on the DOGE Oversight committee, that there is only one language that the people that are in charge understand right now, and that language is money.”
The Tesla Takedown movement was started after Musk became an integral part of the Trump administration. The protests have now expanded across the country, and even to Tesla dealerships in Europe.
Its website states: “Tesla Takedown is a peaceful protest movement. We oppose violence, vandalism and destruction of property. This protest is a lawful exercise of our First Amendment right to peaceful assembly.”
So, clearly Crockett wasn’t talking about getting involved in anything violent, and Bondi likely knew that, but she’s towing the propagandist line of President Donald Trump, who has made it clear that he believes any protest he disagrees with is an “illegal protest,” and has shown his willinglness to arrest and possibly deport legal U.S. residents who are of an ideology he opposes.
“She is an elected public official, so she needs to tread very carefully because nothing will happen to Elon Musk, and we are going to fight to protect all the Tesla owners throughout this country,” Bondi said of Crockett.
Crockett appeard on MSNBC to clarify her support of the protest and deny that she ever promoted violence against Musk.
“So just in case the slow people listening decide to clip this up later, I just want to say that I have never promoted violence whatsoever,” Crockett said. “Yet, I’ve also never made excuses for those violent actors, such as the ones on January 6th. So Pam Bondi, if you have an issue with terrorism, maybe you should talk to your boss about locking back up those guys that he let out that participated in January 6th.”
The Trump administration, like the rest of the MAGA world, only cares about the First Ammendment when it’s time to cry about white conservatives being censored, and they only care about domestic terrorism when they aren’t the face of it. It’s really that simple
