‘Found,’ ‘The Irrational,’ ‘Suits LA,’ & More Canceled At NBC

NBC went on a canceling spree, getting rid of several shows, one of which had not even reached season two.
Ahead of NBCUniversal’s upfronts, multiple news outlets are reporting that NBC has canceled Found after two seasons, Suits LA after one season, Lopez vs. Lopez after three seasons, Night Court after three seasons, and The Irrational after two seasons.
Out of the series, Deadline reports that Found could find new life on a different channel because it is reportedly being shopped to other networks. The same cannot be said for the other shows.
The season 2 finale of Found will now serve as the show’s series finale. It teased a showdown between Gabi (Shanola Hampton) and Sir’s (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) sister, Lena (Danielle Savre).
The show became an instant hit due to its premise of Gabi locking Sir up in her basement. This changed in the season 1 finale when he escaped, shifting the storyline in season 2.
Deadline reports that The Irrational’s second season ratings fell dramatically. Night Court, Lopez vs. Lopez, and Suits LA will not live to see another day on another network.
Suits LA was the biggest flop because NBC was trying to capitalize on the newfound popularity of Suits reruns enjoyed on Netflix. Night Court also started off strong, but the show saw its popularity dip.
According to Deadline, the purge of shows on NBC could be a process to help the network prepare for the return of the NBA, which will bring roughly 180 hours of primetime NBA action.
