A$AP Rocky is having one hell of a week.

Days ago, he was acquitted of gun charges and faced 24 years behind bars, and now he’s getting right back to business.

As he prepares to release his fourth album, Don’t Be Dumb, the rapper adds another title to his resume as the new Creative Director of Ray-Ban.

Even as he was ushered into court over the past few weeks, he treated the quick strut like NBA players treat the tunnel, thanks to his statement suits and Ray-Bans over his eyes.

Wasting no time, in his new post, he’ll kick things off with The Blacked Out Collection, which will be released in April 2025.

Aside from music, the Harlem-born creative is known for his fashion sense, and Ray-Ban is ready to see what he can bring to the storied brand through its image and design. He now takes the reigns as the Creative Director for Ray-Ban Studios, a platform that delves behind the style and into the culture and music of artists like himself. He’ll also be involved in campaigns and store redesigns.

Rocky is excited about the new post because he understands the importance of a classic brand that’s become a mainstay but still knows how to gently push boundaries.

“I’ve always admired Ray-Ban’s ability to stay true to its roots while constantly evolving,” said A$AP Rocky. “I’m excited to be part of the strong heritage and develop the next chapter for an iconic brand like Ray-Ban.”

Ray-Ban’s President, Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio, is excited to have Rocky in the fold and see how his forward-thinking approach to fashion lends itself to some of the most classic shades.

“Ray-Ban transcends the eyewear industry; it’s not just a brand, it’s a lifestyle. For nearly 80 years the brand has been on the faces of the most iconic musicians, artists, actors and heroes – shaping and re-shaping the status quo, leading cultural revolutions of all the times,” he said. “Today, we are welcoming A$AP Rocky into our family; he’s a visionary artist and creator. His ability to push the boundaries of the diverse worlds he explores, aligns with the Ray-Ban DNA. We are reinforcing the brand’s values of innovation, pioneering spirit, and courage. Let the future begin!”

Ray-Ban is owned by EssilorLuxottica. The same brand purchased Supreme last summer for $1.5 billion and was praised for preserving its streetwear and skating roots.

While we have to wait until April to get our hands on the first Rocky-led collection, we know that The Blacked Out Collection will feature “ultra-black lenses” with gold detailing.
