Breakfast Club host Charlamagne Tha God is not happy with Donald Trump’s campaign and its caucasity-infused presumption that it was OK to use his voice in a campaign ad attacking Vice President Kamala Harris and her bid to fund surgical procedures for transgender prisoners. In fact, Charlamagne announced that he has sent out a cease and desist filing to stop Trump from adding him to his “Black friends” list by purposely misconstruing what he actually said about Harris’ advocacy for trans rights, which was the opposite of what Trump and his people presented it to be.

From Vibe:

In the ad, a clip of Charlamagne speaking on the matter was taken out of context to appear as if he was in opposition of U.S. Vice President Harris’ declaration that transgender inmates should receive the ā€œnecessary careā€ required in their transition.

In the original audio, Charlamagne spoke on his initial reaction to the campaign ad, which he felt was ultimately effective in swaying his perception of the matter.

ā€œI’ll tell you what, that ad they was running during the football games this weekend claiming the vice president supports funding gender transition surgeries for all prison inmates and migrants in the U.S., that was nuts,ā€ Charlamagne said at the time.

ā€œI don’t know if it was the backdrop of football, but when you hear the narrator say Kamala supports taxpayer-funded sex changes for prisoners, that one line I was like, ā€˜Hell no, I don’t want my taxpayer dollars going to that.ā€™ā€

He continued, adding, ā€œThat ad was effective. It literally said that Kamala supports taxpayer-funded sex changes for prisoners, and it talks about how, you know, she supports funding gender transition surgeries for all prison inmates and migrants in the United States. That ad was impactful.ā€

Whaaaah? You mean to tell me that the guy who is a living, breathing broken record who shouts “fake news” at every media report he doesn’t like but also treats fact-checkers like they’re his personal plague is out here spreading blatantly misleading nonsense purporting to be a Black man who opposes Harris? You don’t say.

ā€œCease and desist been sent,ā€ Charlamagne said, adding that it might not do much to keep Trump from continuing to misrepresent him in his campaign ad.

ā€œSince when does Trump care about what’s legal?ā€ he asked rhetorically.

Mind you, on Monday, Charlamagne laughed in the face of Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, during her appearance on The Breakfast Club, in which she insisted that she has “never seen this man say a racist thing” in her 16 years of knowing the demonstrably racist ex-president. Charlemagne and the other hosts spent much of the interview bringing up various instances of Trump’s bigotry and anti-Blackness only to have Lara claim it has all been taken out of context — which it hasn’t been, unlike what Trump did with Charlamagne’s statement — and counter the complaints about Trump’s racism with a Miss Millie-like ā€œTrump has always been good to you peopleā€ rant.

At the end of the day, Trump has been working hard at mangling the truth behind Harris’ advocacy for trans people in order to make it appear as though she is planning to force sex changes on the general public in and outside of prison, which she is not.

From Variety:

Harris has been clear about her support for the trans community, from anti-discrimination to access to healthcare.

ā€œI support policies ensuring that federal prisoners and detainees are able to obtain medically necessary care for gender transition, including surgical care, while incarcerated or detained,ā€ Harris said in response to a 2019 survey from the American Civil Liberties Union,Ā ThemĀ reported. ā€œTransition treatment is a medical necessity, and I will direct all federal agencies responsible for providing essential medical care to deliver transition treatment.ā€

CNNĀ reported that Charlamagne recently interviewed Harris in Detroit to appeal to Black male voters.

ā€œHe is running fulltime on a campaign that is about instilling fear, not about hope, not about optimism, not about the future, but about fear,ā€ Harris said at the time.

Exactly.
