Nearly a year after first being accused of sexual misconduct by Cassie, Diddy has been arrested.
The hip-hop mogul was cuffed Monday night at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Manhattan and taken into custody by Homeland Security.
His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, maintains that his client is innocent but acknowledges that Diddy knew the arrest was coming and moved to New York weeks ago knowing the arrest was coming.
“To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts,” Agnifilo’s statement read. “These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”
Combs has been charged with racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking in a federal indictment unsealed Tuesday.
Agnifilo said that Diddy plans to plead not guilty, but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s still fighting other cases regarding sexual abuse, rape, and sex trafficking.
Diddy’s alleged nefarious acts first came to light after ex-girlfriend Cassie filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault. The suit was later settled out of court, but it erupted in at least 11 other suits filed against him, accusing him of similar acts.
Months later, that was followed with video evidence that showed Diddy beating Cassie in Los Angeles’ InterContinental Hotel.
Obtained by CNN, the March 2016 video shows Cassie carrying her bags towards the elevator bank of the LA hotel. Then, Diddy, with a towel wrapped around his waist, comes running after her, grabs her by the back of her neck, and swings her to the floor. Then, he kicks her in the back, grabs her luggage, and then kicks her again. After, he drags her several feet down the hallway.
What led was a raid on his mansions in Miami and Los Angeles, which uncovered 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant used for his freak offs and three AR-15s.
