The report comes from NewsNation, where host Ashleigh Banfield interviewed former MDC inmate Larry Levine and claimed to have an inside source on why Diddy won’t touch his food.
“Imagine if someone paid someone off on the inside to poison his food, give him a heart attack, and he dies,” Levine told Banfield before exclaiming how it could happen. “If somebody got to one of the correctional officers, and this could happen. They don’t make a lot of money and there’s people out there that he’s got stuff on that do have a lot of money.”
Levine went on to explain that it’s not entirely uncommon for new inmates to avoid eating the center’s carb-heavy food and eventually get sick when they do because the food often has mold on it.
Levine’s accounts are unfounded at this time, but one true, odd fact about Diddy’s current digs is that he’s in the same jail housing unity as fraudulent former crypto exec Sam Bankman-Fried, who stole more than $8 billion.
NBC‘s sources describe the living situation as a “barrack-style area currently housing about 18-20 inmates,” all of whom are arguably high-profile and shouldn’t be mixing with the jail’s general population.
Diddy’s new reality comes after he was arrested in his hotel lobby last week after moving to New York in preparation for his arrest. He’s been denied bail because the judge fears he’s a flight risk, but his lawyer, Marc Agnifilio, claims the battle over his client’s innocence has just begun.
“He’s gonna plead not guilty, obviously, and he’s gonna fight this with all of his energy and all of his might and the full confidence of his lawyers,” Agnifilo said when bail decline. “I expect a long battle for the good result for Mr. Combs. I’m gonna fight like hell to get him released, and he should be released with all that he’s done and coming here voluntarily.”
