During his Drizzmas Giveaway the day after Christmas, Drake expressed that he doesn’t just want to give back to his fans around the holidays, but make it an ongoing movement.
While streaming with Adin Ross, Drake explained how he pitched Amazon founder and billionaire Jeff Bezos a show with the same premise as the God’s Plan video.
“This is one of my lifelong dreams, obviously. So you see what we’re doing tonight, right?” he asked Ross. “This is a thing that I’ve wanted to do since I shot that video [God’s Plan]. I asked Jeff Bezos, and the word I got back was he didn’t wanna do it.”
Drake explains that he wanted to emulate Anthony Bourdain‘s Parts Unknown, where the late chef would go around to different parts of the world, immersing himself in different cultures and food.
But instead of food, Drake wants to share his wealth.
“I want to do God’s Plan, the TV show. 10 episodes a year. I want to travel across the world. I want to link with billionaires. I know there’s a lot of people that have money but don’t get a chance to put a face to their charitable actions,” Drake says. “I want to link with people who have been blessed with an insane amount of money.”
Instead of buying bottles at the club or debating who has a bigger yacht, he’d rather go straight to people, even skipping a traditional charity.
“If anybody’s interested in doing the God’s Plan TV show, I’m right here,” he adds.
Elsewhere in the Drizzmas stream on Kick, Drake discussed his beef with Kendrick Lamar, including references to the ‘Euphoria’ lyric about Sexyy Redd. When reading a fan letter, he almost said, “F-ck Kendrick,” and quipped that Adin is the “healthy Ross” as a slight to Rick Ross.
However, he appears to have patched things up with Future, saying, “Shout out to Pluto. ” This confirms reports earlier this year that they’ve reached a truce.
