Chicago Bulls v Toronto Raptors

Drake is once again using his Anita Max Win Tour to address the long list of opps that he gained last year as a result of his rap beef with Kendrick Lamar.

He’s currently in the middle of the tour, where he’s performing in Syndey, Australia, at the Qudos Bank Area for four consecutive shows. Towards the end of Sunday night’s (Feb. 16) concert, he performed the 21 Savage-assisted “Rich Flex,” the opening track to their collaborative 2022 album Her Loss.

While White was reciting the chorus, a fan tossed a Toronto Raptors jersey on stage. He eventually held it up, and after realizing it was a No. 10 DeMar DeRozan jersey, he shook his head and threw it back toward the crowd.

The move again proves thatĀ Drake and DeRozan’s bromance is over. The six-time All-Star was previously close with Drake, the Raptors’Ā Global ambassador, telling Shannon Sharpe in 2021 that “he’ll forever have a friend in me and loyalty out of me.”

He spent the first nine years of his career with the franchise, but DeRozan’s a Compton native who supported Lamar during the beef. The divide was first seen at Kendrick Lamar’s Juneteenth “The Pop Out” concert, where DeRozan was spotted on stage dancing to “Not Like Us” alongside Russell Westbrook while LeBron James looked on from the crowd.

Now a Sacramento King, he even appeared in the “Not Like Us” video, and when asked about the cameo, he explained how close he and fellow Compton native Lamar are.

ā€œKendrick been a friend of mine, family — damn near family, for a long time, for a while. We’re from the same city; we grew up damn near in the same neighborhood,ā€ DeRozan said. ā€œSo it’s always been there. It hasn’t always been publicized, but, you know, that’s basically family.ā€

DeRozan tried to downplay his allegiance, claiming it was just music, but Drake felt differently. Months later, while sitting courtside at a game last November, he told the Raptors broadcast, “If you ever put a DeRozan banner up, I’ll go up there and pull it down myself.”

It’s clear there’s still some sourness on the OVO boss’ side, so see how social media is reacting to the jersey tossing below.
