Jay-Z‘s got reason to celebrate, thanks to a legal victory.

In December of 2024, lawyer Tony Buzbee named Jay in a lawsuit alongside Diddy, claiming they raped a 13-year-old girl together back in 2000 at MTV Music Awards afterparty.

Now, Buzbee has announced that the suit will be dropped, with court filings from Friday stating that it “hereby gives notice that that above-captioned action is voluntarily dismissed.”

Since the suit went public, Jay has preached his innocence, releasing several statements through Roc Nation’s X account. So when the dismissal was announced, he did the same and again took shots at Buzbee’s character and the effect the allegations have had on his family.

“Today is a victory. The frivolous, fictitious, and appalling allegations have been dismissed. This civil suit was without merit and never going anywhere,” the statement begins. “The fictional tale they created was laughable, if not for the seriousness of the claims. I would not wish this experience on anyone. The trauma that my wife, my children, loved ones, and I have endured can never be dismissed.”

The statement refers to the suit as nothing more than a money grab and that “the system has failed” because Buzbee escapes unfazed despite throwing dirt on the Brooklyn billionaire’s name.

Jay-Z ends the message by reminding folks how important it is to champion real victims and aid them in getting justice.

“The court must protect victims, OF COURSE, while with the same ethical responsibility, the courts must protect the innocent from being accused without a shred of evidence. May the truth prevail for all victims and those falsely accused equally,” the statement ends.

Roc Nation initially called the lawsuit “baloney,” and cracks began to show soon afterward when NBC interviewed the alleged victim. Inconsistencies included her false description of the NYC home she was assaulted in, meeting members of Good Charlotte who were actually on tour in the Midwest at the time, and even her own father not remembering driving five hours to pick her up.
