Just as Jonathan Majors was starting to make the media rounds after being found guilty in the assault case filed by his ex-girlfriend, his path to Hollywood’s good graces has taken another step back.

Now, Rolling Stone has obtained some damning audio of a conversation between Grace Jabbari and the Creed III actor where they’re speaking after one of their heated arguments with cooler heads.

The audio begins with Majors admitting, “I’m ashamed [as]I’ve ever [been]…I’ve never [been] aggressive with a woman before. I’ve never aggressed a woman; I aggressed you.”

Jabbari cuts him off, adding, “You strangled me and pushed me against the car.”

“Yes, all those things are under ‘aggressed,’ yeah. That’s never happened to me,” Majors responds.

Jabbari then wonders if things got physical because of her behavior, asking, “Because I said something sarcastically, in your eyes?”

Majors says it’s “more than that,” and she adds that it’s “Something inside of you.”

“Yeah, towards you,” Majors answers before the recorded conversation ends.

The recording comes two years after his fall from Hollywood stardom began when he called the police because he arrived at his New York home to find his then-girlfriend Jabbari unconscious. It led to him being accused of domestic violence and arrested on assault, strangulation, and harassment charges.

Despite Jabbari recanting her original statement, he was eventually found guilty of one count of reckless assault and a charge of harassment but was acquitted on another charge of assault and one of aggravated harassment. He was also sentenced to take part in a weekly domestic violence intervention program for a year as a part of his probation, along with a $250 fine.

It was just days ago, on Friday, March 14, when Majors gave his first comprehensive interview since his legal proceedings as the latest cover star for The Hollywood Reporter. His new role in the iron-pumping Magazine Dreams thrust him back into the spotlight as Hollywood elite like Whoopi Goldberg, Matthew McConaughey, and Michael B. Jordan are singing his praises and ready to see him return to work.

But now it’s unclear how people will feel with the newly unearthed audio. See the reactions below.
