The Super Bowl is one of the rare times you aren’t rushing to grab the remote and fast forward past the commercials, and this year’s didn’t disappoint.
If you notice, this year’s ads focused on beating adversity and togetherness. This theme is also evident on the field, with the slogan ‘Choose Love’ plastered in the end zones.
Among all the high-budget commercials with meticulously edited shots enters Kanye West.
West had his own commercial air during the game, and his typical controversial manner was a complete deviation as he filmed himself with an iPhone while lying down in a dentist chair with the bib around his neck. The low-budget 29-second video resulted from him blowing the money on jewelry.
“What’s up, guys? I spent all the money for the commercial on these new teeth, so, once again, I had to shoot it on the iPhone. Um… um…. um… go to Yeezy.com,” he said. The video ends, pointing viewers to go to Yeezy.com.
NBC News reports that the ad wasn’t nationally viewed, only confirming that Los Angeles residents saw it.
Browsing Yeezy’s official doesn’t take long because there’s just one item available: a white tee shirt with a black swastika across the front. It’s labeled as HH-01, available in sizes 1, 2, and 3, and like all the other merch that’s been removed from the site, the offensive shirt will run you $20.
The swastika shirt’s availability comes on the heels of Ye’s week of rants on X, which included him professing his love for Hitler and calling himself a Nazi.
“Elon stole my Nazi swag at the inauguration… yooo my guy get your own third rale,” Ye wrote on Friday. “I can say Jew as much as I want. I can say Hitler as much as I want.”
But after a while, Ye’s frantic tweets became more frequent, and Elon Musk deactivated his account. Ye’s farewell tweet was, “I’m logging out of Twitter. I appreciate Elon for allowing me to vent. It has been very cathartic to use the world as a sounding board.”
The final straw appeared to be his rant, admitting he hits women, supporting Diddy, and tweeting a bunch of porn links.
