But every once in a while, everyone comes together for a viral moment, and it’s not just the collective feeling that Kanye West’s phone needs to be taken away but the “Montoya” moment that made it to many timelines.

A Spanish-language clip of a man running down the beach as host Sandra Barneda screams his name, Montoya, pleading for him to return made the rounds on social media this past week. Despite the language barrier, even Black Twitter has united to mock the moment.

For some backstory, it’s a clip from La Isla de las Tentaciones, translating to Temptation Island: Spain. You can think of it like a Spanish version of Love Island, where many young adults live in a beachside villa, but with the twist of committed relationships tempted by single contestants.

That drama came when José Carlos Montoya went on the show with his girlfriend, Anita Williams, to test their relationship and see if they synced up before having kids. So naturally, he ended up getting a lapdance from another woman.

To get revenge, Anita got close to a man named Manuel. Montoya was shown footage of them kissing in a hot tub while he sat with the other male contestants. In a very dramatic fashion, Manuel yelled at the screen, ripped his shirt open, and kicked the iPad to the ground before falling to his knees on the beach.

Later, Montoya saw a clip of Anita and Manuel getting close while preparing for bed. The host tried to calm him down, but as the two appeared to get intimate, the live night vision camera popped on, and Montoya sprinted down the beach to the mansion to catch them in the act. The host screams, “Por favor Montoya,” as he runs away, which leads to the viral moment.

Anita stops having sex with Manuel to chase after Montoya to explain her decision, but the time doesn’t really seem to fit the crime.
