Rapper OG 2 Low’s Gun Goes Off In Pants During Podcast Interview, Social Media Remembers Cheddar Bob

If you’re not a ’90s Hip-Hop head who was a fan of the rap scene in Houston, Texas, you might not be familiar with rapper OG 2 Low, who started his career when he was 12 back in 1992 and landed a guest verse on the Geto Boys‘ track “Bring It On” from their 1993 album Till Death Do Us Part. Well, if you didn’t know him from back then, you might not forget him now that he has appeared on the podcast Tha Dirty 3rd (also called One on One Wit Mike D), where his gun discharged in his pants mid-interview.
For the better part of an hour, 2 Low, born Cedric White, discussed his career, including the ’93 release of his first album, Funky Lil Brotha, which marked his artist debut as a young teen. He also discussed the lawsuit he filed against Rap-A-Lot over money he was allegedly owed.
It was a good interview that is sure to be overshadowed by the fact that — well, you know — his gun went off in his pants.

Then, about 47 minutes into the interview, Mike D begins talking about how younger artists tend to mismanage their early career success. 2 Low puts down his drink and fidgets a bit, then slowly puts his hand into his jeans pocket. Suddenly, a single, loud pop is heard, a blast of fire can be seen coming out from 2 Low’s pants pocket, and 2 Low makes the face of someone who knows something just went wrong.“Who shot who?” asks Mike D, looking off to the side. “Somebody got shot?” And all the while 2 Low maintains that same “oops” face.
After Mike D checks the scene, he hops right back in his chair and cuts a verse promoting the podcast. A pro. Soon, Mike D and 2 Low are back at it. “Right now, man, we’re being grateful for the fact that everybody safe, everybody good, everybody cool,” said 2 Low.
